The Board of The Highland Military Tattoo today revealed their new branding.
Reflecting the strength of an international event and instantly recognizable, the strong, modern look and colour palette of the refreshed logo has been crafted to include the iconic architecture of the Tattoo’s home at Fort George. This is especially relevant in Visit Scotland’s Year of History, Heritage and Architecture.
The HMT’s marketing partner, Intimation Creative, produced the updated branding which shall now be incorporated within a new website, on all promotional materials and across the Tattoo’s social media channels.
Intimation’s Managing Director, Steve Sadler commented: “We wanted to retain a distinctive look for the brand whilst developing the logo further to incorporate various elements of iconography, namely the Saltire Shield, the Battlements and the Crown. Reflecting the Highlands and Scotland in general, the logo contains the lines of the fort’s emblematic bastions and redoubts that create the unique shape of the fort extending to the crown element, additionally communicating the role of the tattoo as an official, military ceremony”.
The Tattoo’s Board approved the new branding and officially released the guidelines today, with Tattoo Director, Major General Seymour Monro, commenting; “There is a great pride in our Highland Tattoo, not only on the part of our Armed Forces but the young dancers and musicians who travel to our International event to showcase the great traditions and history of our country. The new branding reflects that pride and gives us all a uniform identity, under which we can work together to produce a fabulous 2017 event”.
The Highland Military Tattoo shall take place at Fort George, from the 8th-10th September 2017.
